Dragonfly Earrings by Pat Pruitt

For the Pueblo tribes of the Southwest, dragonflies are guiding spirits that lead us to water. Water is life. This fact is most apparent to desert dwelling people for whom the dragonfly holds a special place in their cultures and features regularly in their art.  These magical beings with iridescent wings are an embodiment of vitality, transformation and colour.

Celebrated artist and metalsmith Pat Pruitt has created a unique range of titanium dragonfly earrings especially for Rainmaker Gallery. Each pair is individually laser anodised to achieve a unique colour combination. The titanium is super lightweight and every pair is signed. A selection of these exquisite earrings are now available to purchase from the website

. A larger range is available in the gallery.

Pendleton blanket

The gift of a beautiful blanket is a warm hug that lasts a lifetime.

Hug your loved ones!

One of the most difficult aspects of these challenging times is the distancing from those we love. If you are desperate to hug your family members and cherished friends what better way to make them feel warm and safe and loved than the gift of a beautiful Pendleton blanket.

Pendleton Woollen Mills weave the symbols and stories of Native America into fabulous woollen masterpieces. These blankets have become traditional honouring gifts for Native Peoples. Rights of passage such as births, coming of age, graduation, marriage, major milestones and accomplishments are all marked with the giving of a blanket. Not only are they used daily in the home but they are also worn for ceremonies, celebrations and feast days. The blankets I ordered back in February finally arrived last week! They are selling fast! Drop by the gallery to see them in all their glory or view the designs on the website here if you cannot visit in person.

Native Spirit Film Festival

From 12th October - 15th November watch a vast array of Indigenous made movies and shorts curated by the annual Native Spirit Film Festival. Buy a festival pass for an amount of your choosing and watch whenever you want for the duration of the festival. I watched several inspiring short films yesterday and I have several feature length films lined up for the coming days. This festival is a godsend to anyone who has exhausted their usual streaming services of late and likes to watch movies in the comfort of their own home.

Opening hours

If you are making a special journey to the gallery please email or call ahead as I have been keeping rather erratic hours this year and I would hate to miss you!

My best wishes to you,

Jo xx
